Remember THIS gorgeous maternity session with one of my favourite family’s EVER? I got to take photos of their new addition – she is perfect in every way and is going to bring so much love and joy to her mommy and daddy <3
I was so excited to spend time with this gorgeous bundle of joy after such a fantastic maternity session (if you missed it, you can see it HERE). She was super alert and full of smiles for us – what an absolute pleasure she was to work with (and she gives the best cuddles 😉 )
While I will no longer be offering posed newborn sessions (sessions where baby is undressed and posed on and in various blankets/baskets with hats/props), I am still excited to share these previous sessions with you – simply because I celebrate every one of my sessions and I love being a part of and capturing the tiny details of your bundle!
(In case you are wondering, I am now only offering lifestyle type newborn sessions – this is a session that concentrates on your beautiful baby in their environment as well as the bond you have with baby).
Remember the last time I blogged, I promised you beautiful images of a precious baby boy? Well, here they are!
Born into a beautiful family, this little guy is going to be a heartbreaker (I mean, just look at the grin he gave me! My heart melted!)
Newborns are difficult to photograph. Whenever a client calls me and inquires about a newborn session, I always tell them that it’s not done in an hour and seldom even done in two. Heck, sometimes I stay for as long as four hours and sometimes I end up going back another day to finish the session. Newborn babies cry. They drink. They need to be winded. They poop. They pee. They drift off to sleep and then 20 minutes later they want to drink again. THIS IS NORMAL. I never rush a newborn session and it’s a rare occasion that I walk out of one not having being pooped on 😉 So parents – don’t panic when we pass the two hour mark on the day of your newborn session – I am never in a rush and the end result is completely worth it, I promise <3
Sometimes though, some babies just make it easy. This gorgeous little boy was one of the “easy” ones I was probably in and out of there in under two hours – quite unusual for me!
Here are just a few of my favourites from his session:
Awwww, my favourite – baby smiles!
I love this owl hat – definitely one of my all time favourites (I got it from Oooh Pretty – be sure to check them out!)
I love scrunched up babies <3
Another sweet baby smile.
Fast asleep baby.

I am finally taking a moment to sit and update my blog and share the photos of my niece with you! You might remember the maternity session HERE.
This little girl was an absolute angel and slept just about right through her session. I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to watch and capture her as she grows, and EXTRA lucky that my own baby girl now has a cousin 😉
The beautiful props are from the talented Oooh Pretty.
These are just a few favourites from the session:
Daddy’s little princess.
And Mommy’s shining star.
Look at all that hair!
Probably one of my favourite hats EVER from Oooh Pretty!
I love the smaller details – especially baby toes!
Remember, if you are wanting to book a newborn session, the best time is in their first week of life. The longer we wait, the more difficult it will be to capture those beautiful scrunched up sleepy poses. If you are wanting to book a session, or get more information, head on over to the “GET IN TOUCH” tab at the top of the page!

After being away from blogging for a couple of weeks (life really gets crazy all at once!), I’m glad to be back blogging in full force this week!
This family is divine – almost ethereal. Mom is expecting her third girl, and I have no doubt that she will be as absolutely stunning as her mom and two big sisters.
I fell in love with Mom’s choice of outfit – the all white ensemble blew me away. But boy, did it give me a challenge – we shot this session in the middle of the day! (any fellow photographers reading this will know how difficult that is!)
All challenges taken into consideration, I am so so happy with how this session turned out – it definitely didn’t hurt having such a gorgeous family to work with 😉
As a newborn photographer, it never ceases to amaze me how absolutely perfect newborns are. For me, newborns are so incredibly amazing to photograph. A LOT of hard work goes into getting those gorgeous sleepy images, but it is so worth it. Newborn images are so magical and so important to get, because they are tiny for such a short period that you forget quickly just how small they really are.
